Do you need an audit,
a review, or neither?

Answer the questions and this works out your public interest score under Regulation 26(2) of the Companies Act, then tells you what the Act requires of you. It runs entirely in your browser, and nothing reaches us unless you press send at the end.

Step 1

What kind of entity is it?

The public interest score is a Companies Act test, so it only governs companies.

Step 2

The four things the score counts

Rough figures are fine. Leave anything blank at zero.

Revenue for the year as reported under your reporting framework. Rounded up to the next million: R2.4m is 3 points, not 2, and R1 is 1 point.
R
What the company owed people outside it at year end, so bank and finance-lease balances, trade creditors and SARS. The Regulations do not define the term; the common reading excludes loans from the shareholders themselves. Also rounded up per million.
R
The average over the year, not the headcount at year end. A 12-month average of monthly headcount is the usual basis. Part-timers count as the people they are.
Count people, not companies. Look through a trust or a holding company to the individuals behind it. Someone holding through two entities still counts once. A lender is not a holder.

Step 3

Four questions that change the answer

These decide the outcome as much as the score does.

You have already answered the questions we would have asked. Add your name and email and we will come back with a fixed fee, usually within one business day.

Your answers above are sent with it, so we can price the job properly. Used only to reply to you, never for marketing. See the privacy notice. Or just call 082 304 2206.

This is an indication, not a determination. It applies Regulation 26(2), Regulation 28 and section 30(2A) to what you typed. It cannot see your MOI, your shareholders' register or your records, and there are situations it does not cover. We confirm the position formally before accepting any engagement, and you should not act on this alone. Nothing here is advice, and using it does not make you a client.

Curve Capital is not a Registered Auditor. If the answer is an audit, we will refer you to one we trust.
