This notice explains what personal information Curve Capital collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be technically unassailable. If anything in it is unclear, ask and we will explain it.

What we collect, and only when you send it

This website has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no cookies. It loads nothing from any other company's servers. If you read the site and leave, we do not know you were here.

If you complete the enquiry form, we receive what you type into it:

• Your name, and your company name if you give one
• Your email address, and your phone number if you give one
• Which service you are asking about, and your message
• If you choose to complete the optional fields: your approximate turnover, employee numbers, and whether every shareholder is also a director

Please do not send confidential financial records through the form. Once we are talking, we will tell you a sensible way to send documents.

Why we have it, and what we do not do with it

We use it for one purpose: to answer your enquiry, and to work out which engagement the Companies Act actually requires in your case so that we can tell you. The optional fields exist because they let us calculate your public interest score before replying, which usually saves an exchange of emails.

We do not send marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own purposes. If your enquiry becomes an engagement, the information carries over into the client file and our engagement letter and standard terms of business govern it from that point.

Who else touches it

Form submissions are received and stored by Netlify, the company that hosts this website, and reach us by email. Netlify processes the data on our instruction as an operator, and its servers are outside South Africa. Sending you a reply necessarily involves your email provider and ours. Those are the only third parties involved.

Because that means your information leaves South Africa, we rely on section 72 of the Act: you provide the information voluntarily in order to get a reply, and the transfer is necessary for us to give you one.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not become an engagement, we delete it within 12 months. If it does, the records become part of your client file, and professional and statutory record-keeping rules under the Companies Act, the Tax Administration Act and FICA determine how long we must keep them — in some cases years after the work ends. We keep them for that period and no longer.

What you can ask us to do

Under the Act you may, at any time and free of charge:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• Ask us to delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it
• Object to our processing it

Email rynhardvm@gmail.com and we will act on it. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you are entitled to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, whose current contact details are on its own website.

Access to records

Curve Capital is a private body for the purposes of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000. Our PAIA manual, which explains how to request access to records we hold, is available on request from the Information Officer above.

Changes

If this notice changes we will update the date at the top. We will not apply a materially different use of information you have already sent us without asking you first.
