These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the terms on which we do work for clients — those live in an engagement letter and our standard terms of business, which are signed before any work starts.
What this website is
It describes what Curve Capital does and helps you work out which engagement the Companies Act requires in your case. Everything on it is general information.
Nothing here is advice. The pages about public interest scores, section 30(2A) and Regulation 29(5) are a plain-language guide to the legislation, not an application of it to your facts. Do not act or refrain from acting on the basis of anything on this site without getting advice on your own circumstances. Reading the site does not make you a client, and sending an enquiry does not either.
No engagement until it is in writing
We take on work only under a signed engagement letter. Until one exists, we owe you no duty in respect of any matter, we are not responsible for any deadline, and nothing we say in an initial conversation should be relied on as a professional opinion. Any fee mentioned before an engagement letter is an estimate.
What we are, and are not
- We are not a Registered Auditor. Curve Capital is not registered in terms of the Auditing Profession Act, 2005 and does not perform audits or express audit opinions. Where the Companies Act requires audited financial statements, we refer the engagement to a Registered Auditor.
- Independent reviews are not audits. They are performed under ISRE 2400 (Revised) and convey limited assurance only, which is materially less than an audit.
- We are not a financial services provider. Despite the name, Curve Capital is an accounting and assurance practice. We give no investment, fund management, lending or financial-product advice, and we are not licensed under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002.
Accuracy
We keep the site current and correct as far as we reasonably can, but legislation and professional standards change and pages are not always updated the same day. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on information on this website. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, nothing here purports to.
The enquiry form
Please do not send confidential financial records through the form, and do not use it for anything urgent or time-critical — use the phone. We aim to reply within one business day but do not guarantee it, and an unanswered enquiry is not acceptance of any instruction. How we handle what you send is set out in the privacy notice.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
